Microbiological analysis

The materials of animal origin used for the production of feed and the abnormalities in its storage and circulation lead to microbiological contamination.

Feed is part of the food chain, so its eating by livestock affects also the consumer, who is at the end of the food chain. Therefore it is very important to control the quality of the feed and the feed itself should be free of microbiological contamination.

Microbiological feed contamination is primarily the result of the use of contaminated ingredients in their production and secondly, improper storage and irregularities in circulation. Being aware of the effects that microbial contamination can have on the consumers, it is necessary to take a conscious approach to assessing the produced feed quality.

The laboratory analysis is helpful in feed monitoring. For many years WESSLING Polska has been performing it for the clients, systematically adapting techniques to changing requirements.

At present, the guidelines on feed contamination are regulated by:

Dyrektywa 2002/32/WE Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady z dnia 7 maja 2002 r. w sprawie niepożądanych substancji w paszach zwierzęcych.
